Assignment Guidelines

The focus of this week is phenomenology and grounded theory examples.You have been asked to write a scholarly analysis to include the following:

ï Explain the purpose of the study and summarize the guiding research questions.

ï Explain the role the researcher(s) assumed in this study.

ï Determine how the researchers applied the principles of either the phenomenology or ground theory design to address their research problem. Explain how it was an appropriate qualitative design to effectively address their research problem of interest.

ï Identify the data collection strategies used by the researcher(s).

ï Examine any ethical issues that emerged in the research.

ï Identify and explain the challenges/limitations of the study.

ï Provide an overall assessment of the study and indicate whether the approach was effective.

ï Recommend additions and/or modifications for consideration.

ï The paper should be about phenomenology and grounded theory approaches in qualitative research.

ï There is one article for each approach

ï You need to read each article and address each of the categories (LISTED ABOVE) as it applies to the phenomenology approach

ï Then you move to the grounded theory article and address each of the categories (LISTED ABOVE) as it applies to the grounded theory approach.

ï In doing this your paper should be structured in the following way. I have provided the outline of APA heading format and the two articles.SEE BELOW

ï You should be very clear when you are writing in each article’s section that you cite that article in APA format so it is clear what article you are discussing
