How would talking in a different accent affect peoples impressions about you? (Thematic analysis)

I need a written qualitative research analysis of the above topic. Don’t worry about introduction and method.

3) LITERATURE REVIEW: Provide a very brief literature review about what we know about the topic you have chosen (Accents and identity). This should set up the rationale/logic for what you have chosen to do for your analysis. It makes the analysis ‘make sense’ and provides literature to relate it to, in your discussion.

4) RESEARCH QUESTION: (How would talking in a different accent affect peoples’ impressions about you? ) After the literature review and before the method (don’t worry about method) – you need to provide a specific and focused research question that will guide your analysis. This should be about your topic of interest and follow on logically from the introduction and literature review. Remember the guidelines that were covered in lectures and tutorials about what constitutes a good qualitative research question.

5) RESULTS and DISCUSSION: In a traditionally-formatted research report, the results section presents the ‘findings’ of your data analysis, and the discussion section ‘discusses’ them in relation to the literature, your aims/research questions/hypotheses, and generally interprets what they mean and the implications of your study.

In qualitative research, due to the nature of the research process (where your write-up actually involves presentation of extracts of qualitative data, and analysis is descriptive/interpretative, rather than summarised [tables of] statistical results), it is typical for these two sections to be combined. That means you have to do your analysis, and present it, and relate it to the literature and discuss the implications, all in one go.

In this assignment, you need to clearly identify the main themes you have extracted from your data, and illustrate them with relevant data extracts (quotes). You need to do some interpretive analysis of your data extracts, make sure you relate you result to the literature, and discuss the implications of your analysis.

6) CONCLUSION: In the conclusion, you discuss the broader implications of your research. What does your analysis tell us that is interesting/new/insightful in relation to the topic? Are there any limitations to your research? What should future research focus on based on what your analysis identified?

NB: You should end with some ‘punchy’ conclusions that clearly relate to the research question you started out with.
