Toys for Growth and Development

The toy business is a multi-billion dollar industry. Often parents wonder what types of toys would be most helpful with their child’s growth and development. In the Studies activity for this unit, you selected a toy and research it. For this discussion, post an image of the selected toy, and briefly describe it. Outline a feature of the toy that promotes at least one of the following domains of infant development:

• Physical.
• Cognitive.
• Emotional.
• Social.

In your post, be sure to mention specific theory or research to support your post. Hint:Piaget’s theory of cognitive development, the information processing theory, and Erikson’s psychosocial theory are some helpful resources in this area.
