Read the book Naomi Alderman – The Power (attached below) and answer the questions below.

To kick off our unit on The Power, this first homework will ease us in. For Part 1, I’d like you to:

• Name your favorite character so far.
• Describe their first encounter with the power. Where were they? What did they see? What did they do? Provide at least one quote from the novel in MLA formatting to illustrate. To cite in MLA formatting, it should look like this: “quote” (Alderman 221). –OR– paraphrase (Alderman 221).
• Provide a quote that embodies your favorite character from this first section of reading. Then, explain how the quote embodies your character. What does the quote say about your character’s personality, behavior, etc.? Cite the quote in MLA.
