what is the difference of two speeches?

Watch these two speech videos to see how speeches from college students can be very strong or could have a lot of room for improvement. Keep in mind that when we see speech videos that have many areas for improvement, it may be that the speaker is very new to speaking, and when we see speeches that demonstrate much strong speaking skills, it may be that the speaker is very experienced, and may even be a competitive speaker on a speech and debate team.

As you start this class, and your own speech-making process, think about how you can develop speeches that have fewer of the areas for improvement that we see in these speech videos. And if you see a speech video that you think is very strong, think about how you can model those skills yourself.

For this assignment, post some comments about each video. Try to find areas for improvement, and also areas of each speech that are good. Be specific and use the language from the reading that you have done so far. For example, any of these terms from Ch. 1 in the Public Speaking Project could conceivably be used in a review of these speeches: encoding, decoding, nonverbal behavior, message, channel, noise, useful topic, engaging introduction, clear organization, well-supported ideas, conclusion, vocal expression, visual aids, etc.

A good review is detailed, uses the terminology from the assigned reading, is typically at least 100 words per video, is clearly written without spelling or grammatical errors,

The other video, I couldn’t attach it. the girl in the video is a student. very nervous talking. plays with her hair a lot. always looking down at her paper she’s reading it from. no. eye contacts. she says ” um ” a lot. she’s not. confident.
